Tonight at 10:00…First Warning Weather
Okay seriously, what do we need the “first Warning” bit in there for? If its Ohio and sunny in November, maybe you should warn us, we’re not used to that. If we’re going to get a few inches in December, don’t act like its something amazing and sensational.
For about three days now, the weather people have made it sound like we’re about to get the snow storm of the century. Its going to be trecherous, cold, and just plain awful. Stay inside and wait by the tv for more info.
Yesterday it rained. It was cold. There were a lot of people out shopping and a lot of people driving home after the holidays. Quite a few of those people simply didn’t drive according to the conditions. They wrecked and the weather people said we should worry becuase more bad weather was coming. I was “First Warned” that there would be three inches of snow tonight.
Today, as of 4:00, I’m rather disappointed. The damn sensational weather people said the roads would be dangerous! There would be snow! There’s hardly a trace of snow on the ground. I checked the completely un-sensational National Weather Service. Here’s what they say:
Late Afternoon: Snow showers. High near 35. Breezy, with a west wind around 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tonight: Snow showers likely, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 24. West wind between 13 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Damn! All we get is an inch and a half at the most?!? This sucks. Two weeks ago, the First Warning weather man told us “We’re going to be seeing the coldest weather in six months!” Um, really? Its going to be colder in November than it was in May? No shit. Thanks for the First Warning!
Are the TV news weather people like this everywhere? Or just here in Ohio?
