So, over the weekend, I got a really nasty virus (Antivirus 2008 XP) which infested about a bazillion different places on my PC. Took nearly 3 hours to find then obliterate all of its hiding spots (including registry edits) and come Tuesday afternoon the following week -> I get a message from my boss telling me my computer's been compromised.

    WHAT? O_O

Somehow, quite possibly related to the nasty virus, some spammers hijacked my IP address to send out badness. What's even stranger is - my computer's pretty clean and has been since Saturday night and the first message we received about my IP address was sent out early Tuesday afternoon - during a time when I was not home and my computer was not on with a modem that is not wireless enabled.

What does this mean? It means either someone broke into my house to tentatively use my laptop (don't think so) or it's a case of IP spoofing. No idea what else it could be.

Arg. Lots of arrg. Spoofers, spammers, hijackers - the whole lot of you guys really, really, really suck.

    I'm accident prone.
